My Mother’s Pictures

My mother came to visit and, on a whim, took a late-afternoon walk with her camera. The light was doing something magical on the pond. She shot algae looking like galaxies; reflections, via super-slow shutter speed, resembling impressionist paintings; the water sapphire-blue under the sky; bare trees and their reflections like pale sound waves; expansive peaceful views of the pond, willow, evergreens, barns. Check these out—so totally amazing…

(Two of these are reflections inverted, i.e. flipped so the trees appear right-side up.)
